Singapore, 16 September 2014 – Nikon Singapore today announced that they will be bringing in recognised industry leader in travel and wildlife photography, Nikon New Zealand Ambassador’s Chris McLennan, to Singapore to speak at Nikon’s I AM FULL FREEDOM consumer roadshow. The public event will be held at Funan DigitaLife Mall from 3 to 5 October 2014.
McLennan will be sharing his experiences as a travel and wildlife photographer during the event. His recent notable work includes a viral video titled “Car-L meets the lions” where Chris used a remote control camera buggy to get close up photos of a wild pride of eight lions.
“We are very honoured to have Chris McLennan with us to share his 25 years of experience in photography,” said Jonathan Ang, Deputy General Manager, Nikon Singapore. “Chris’ experience shooting in diverse and challenging conditions all around the world allow him to provide invaluable insights to photography enthusiasts and inspire them to get the very best out of their cameras.”
“I’m delighted to be present in Singapore to talk about my journey as a photographer for Nikon, and my experiences from New Zealand and all over the globe,” said Chris McLennan. “My photography assignments have taken me to more than 45 different countries to shoot many amazing subjects, and having Nikon cameras has allowed me to get the best out of every shot.”
“I’m looking forward to sharing those experiences with everyone here,” McLennan added.
Participants will have the opportunity to interact with Nikon Professional Photographers such as Alex Soh, Bryan Foong, and Imran Ahmad, who are experts in their own fields of travel, wedding and underwater photography respectively. They will talk about their own behind-the-scene stories and share photography insights for aspiring photographers to learn from.
Titled “I AM FULL FREEDOM”, the Nikon FX experience happening this October is also open to members of the public and photography enthusiasts to try out Nikon’s latest full frame DSLR, the Nikon D750, which will make its official debut at the event. Other full frame Nikon FX-format DSLR cameras, which include the D4S and the recently launched D810 will also be available for hands-on testing at the event, with a variety of NIKKOR lenses.
As part of the Nikon FX experience, members of the public will also be able to participate in a novel open-top bus tour around town. The ride will take them around nearby city spots while they test out the new D750, as well as other Nikon full frame FX-format DSLR cameras available on the bus. There will also be free sensor cleaning services over the weekend for existing Nikon users for the first 100 participants per day.
Photographers can also look forward to various exciting performances throughout the weekend, which range from Japanese Taiko Drums to freestyle dance performances and more! Shutterbugs looking to get some weekend captures are encouraged to come by to test their photography skills.

Alex Soh is a Nikon professional photographer with 15 years of experience under his belt. With his guiding philosophy of "capturing with your heart", Alex travels around the world building stock imagery for organisations and companies such as Adobe and the Singapore Tourism Board. He is also one of the contributing photographers to popular stock image site, Getty images.

He will share his less than perfect experience of working in unexpected conditions while pushing the boundaries of wedding photography to produce masterpieces of wow factors.

Imran Ahmad – An Underwater Realm by Imran Ahmad

Chris McLennan is a New Zealand based travel photographer who works for international clients worldwide. Chris’s client base covers commercial entities in the travel and tourism industries, manufacturers in the leisure activities industry and various brands and businesses in the photographic and image making industries - a varied and diverse client base that has seen him work in over 45 different countries to date!
Chris’s 25+ year career as a professional photographer has gained him a number of prestigious international awards, including the PDN National Geographic Traveler Great Outdoors competition where he won the Outdoor Sports and Activities award two years running (2009 and 2010). This sits alongside awards gained in the International Black and White Spider Awards, the Masters Cup Color Awards and the Travel Photographer of the Year awards – all the highest level international competitions available in his field.
As a result of Chris’s excellent imagery, captured both through specific photo shoots provided for his clients and also as a result of his many personal photography projects, Chris is highly respected by his peers and his position as one of the world’s leading travel photographers is recognized through endorsement relationships with a number of top brands within the photographic industry, including top camera brand Nikon for which Chris is their first New Zealand Ambassador.

Over the last couple of years, he visited 15 different countries and various picturesque cities in pursuit of true love pictures. He also accumulated over 70 awards and accolades in international competitions. Earlier in 2012, He was named one of the Asia TOP 30 Wedding Photographers and also the Best of Singapore in Wedding Photography for 3 consecutive years.

Imran Ahmad is a world renowned and internationally published Nikon professional photographer. He is also an Ocean Artist Society member from Singapore. He is a graduate from Middlesex University with Bachelor of Arts in Film Making.
Imran has been shooting professionally for both above and underwater the last 19 years. His also the author and principal photographer for several quality photo books like Hidden Sanctuary, Ocean Tapestry, 2012 Edition Fifty Fathoms, The P U R E Series and most recently, Seychelles Unexpected Treasures, “A collection of LIQUID ART".
